In Conversation With: Natalie Roberts

We had the pleasure of recently catching up with 'HOH OG', Natalie Roberts. Natalie worked for us as our Store Manager & Graphic Designer before moving to England in 2018. She recently came back to New Zealand for a visit, so couldn't miss a chance to catch up and try on our current range.

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I’m a Multimedia Designer at ASOS.  I create campaigns which include print, digital and motion content with our partnership brands. I predominantly look after Face + Body brands like Kylie Cosmetics and Sol de Janeiro but recently have been working with Nike, Adidas and Puma etc. Prior to the UK, I was an HOH OG!

What are some of your most memorable experiences during your time at Head over Heels?

So many great moments! Day to day operations with Fran was always a blast. We had a lot of fun looking after the container store, pop ups, online and finally, the beautiful high street home. I was also fortunate enough to support on the buying with Greta and Mary which allowed me to get creative with the range and our many exclusives. We worked so hard and we so laughed hard too. I treasure those adventures a lot. Oh, and I was pretty chuffed when Beau Coops named a shoe “Natalie” - not 100% sure it’s actually named after me but I still have the selfie with the box somewhere!

You recently travelled to Milan with Greta buying - what were some of your favourite brands?

Vic Matie was my absolute favourite! So many amazing styles that felt great the moment they were on. I genuinely wanted them all! The quality is just incredible too. Those pull on ankle boots…*Adds to my wishlist*.

What current trends in footwear are you most excited about?

Practi-cool shoes! I’m all about a fun practical shoe that I can dress up or down. Whether it’s a Maryjane, sneaker, platform loafer or mule… If I feel like I can pair them with almost anything, almost all year around, I’m into it!

    Sneakers or loafers?

A loafers girl, always! You know I’m the Beau Coops “Boystack” #1 fan! They work with everything and are completely timeless. P.S don’t ask me to count how many colours I own.

Paris Fashion Week or New York Fashion Week?

New York Fashion week so I could see the ranges from up and coming, emerging designers. But… I would happily accept a ticket for either.

What is your all time favourite HOH purchase?

Ooooh, this is tough. Shoes wise I would have to say I really cherished my Beau Coops “Sammi” boots! I absolutely lived in them at the time. Accessories wise, it’s my Deadly Ponies “Mr Mini Wallet”. I’ve used it daily for over six years now and it’s still going strong!

What are you currently coveting from HOH at the moment?

After a recent trip back to NZ, I knew my wardrobe was in desperate need of some HOH goodies! I was lucky enough to snap up the Vic Matie “Nissan” heels and R. M. Williams “Lady Yearling” boots. I currently have my eyes on the Laura Bellariva “Verona” heels and the Deadly Ponies “Poucheroo” bag but I’m also loving all of the Halmanera range too!
